Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our telemedicine services.
Telemediker is a licensed telemedicine platform that connects patients with qualified doctors through secure video consultations. You can receive medical advice, prescriptions, and sick notes from the comfort of your home.
Anyone 18 years or older residing in our service areas (Germany, Austria, Bulgaria) can use Telemediker. You need a valid ID for verification and a device with camera and internet access.
Telemediker currently operates in Germany, Austria, and Bulgaria. We are continuously expanding to serve more patients across Europe.
Our doctors speak German, English, Bulgarian, Turkish, and Serbo-Croatian. You can select your preferred language when booking an appointment.
A standard video consultation lasts up to 20 minutes. This is usually sufficient to discuss your symptoms, receive a diagnosis, and get any necessary prescriptions or sick notes.
In principle, any condition where remote diagnosis and therapy are medically appropriate. Your physician decides during the video visit whether remote care is enough or an in-person examination is needed. For emergencies or when a physical examination is essential, contact emergency services (112) or a local facility.
Ensure you have a stable internet connection, working camera and microphone, and a quiet private space. Have your health insurance card and any relevant medical documents ready.
If you miss your appointment without canceling at least 2 hours in advance, the consultation fee may not be refundable. Contact our support team for assistance with rescheduling.
After the consultation, the e-prescription is submitted to the Telematikinfrastruktur (TI) where applicable or provided as a PDF during the video call — it is not stored in your Telemediker account. Redeem it at the pharmacy according to local rules (e.g. with ID). Your Telemediker account may show booking-related evidence only — we do not maintain a medical patient chart.
If medically justified, the doctor can issue a sick note (Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung) for 1-7 days. The digital sick note is sent to your employer and health insurance automatically.
Yes, all our documents are legally valid. Our doctors are fully licensed, and our e-prescriptions and sick notes meet all legal requirements in Germany and Austria.
E-prescriptions are provided via the TI or as a PDF during the video call — not through your Telemediker account. Sick notes follow the standard processes (e.g. employer, insurer). In your account you will see booking-related evidence and an overview of your video consultations. We do not store a personal medical record or clinical documentation on the platform.
Consultation fees vary depending on the service. Prices are transparently displayed before booking. The fee typically includes the video consultation, prescription, and/or sick note if needed.
We accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers. Payment is processed securely before your consultation.
It depends on your insurance, the treatment country, and your physician. Private insurance: you usually receive an invoice for reimbursement; GOÄ-based billing may apply where arranged. Statutory (GKV): billing is possible when your physician has a KV contract. We continue to expand direct billing options.
If you cancel your appointment at least 2 hours before the scheduled time, you will receive a full refund. For technical issues preventing your consultation, please contact our support team.
You need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection (minimum 2 Mbps), and a modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge).
We support the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. For the best experience, we recommend using Chrome or Safari.
If you experience technical difficulties, try refreshing the page or switching to a different network. If problems persist, contact our support and we will help reschedule your consultation at no extra cost.
We are GDPR compliant. Account and booking data are processed securely; video consultations are encrypted in transit. We do not store a medical patient chart on the platform.
Telemediker does not permanently store the clinical content of consultations; medical records are kept by your treating physician. You and authorized staff can access your account for administrative and billing purposes where necessary.
You can request deletion of your personal account data where no legal retention obligations apply. Telemediker does not hold a treatment chart; retention of clinical records is governed by your physician’s professional duties and applicable law.
